Police say they now know whose blood was found in front of a vacant business in Pahoa town in June.
They say that during the investigation, they were able to verify information identifying the victim as a 60-year-old Pahoa man. The man told police that he had been involved in an altercation with a stranger, and that during that confrontation, he sustained a superficial head wound for which he didn’t seek treatment.
The victim’s name hasn’t been made public.
Police say that on June 26, detectives and evidence specialists responded to a report of blood discovered in an alcove fronting a closed business establishment in Pahoa. After an extensive search in the neighboring business area using a scent-tracking dog, police couldn’t find a victim or any additional evidence.
